While discussing my project in class yesterday, another approach to using sound was brought up.
Rather than simply focusing on several "sacred sounds" (like Tibetan bowls or chants), I might consider using a word like "God" or "Love" and investigate what the vibrational patterns might look like when these words are spoken across a variety of languages.
Looking at the power of words to influence water is very similar to the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto and his Hidden Messages in Water. Emoto looked at the formation of water crystals after the exposure to certain words and sounds.
During the week I also came across some research by a German researcher/photographer named Alexander Lauterwasser. Lauterwasser has some amazing pictures of sound vibrations in water that is along the lines of what I want to reproduce.
