I sent an email today to the publisher of Hans Jenny's book "Cymatics" (Jeff Volk) asking if he can direct me to the source of a reference I've come across many times on the web. The reference relates to the intoning of the chant "OM" into a tonoscope. This is said to have produced a pattern that bares a striking resemblance to the Hindu "Sri Yantra" pattern.
While this is obviously intriguing, I cannot find a single reference to the source of this claim, which raises my concern as to whether this phenomenon exists.
